Slowly but surely, culturally diverse residents of the run-down, working-class neighborhood join the effort and begin to plant fruit, vegetables, and flowers in their plots. Kim, a nine-year-old immigrant from Vietnam, unknowingly starts the garden when she plants a few lima beans in memory of her deceased father, who was a farmer. In Seedfolks, a group of residents of the Gibb Street area of Cleveland, Ohio, join forces to turn a vacant lot into a vibrant community garden. When a young Vietnamese girl plants beans in a vacant lot to connect with the memory of her father, the diverse group of locals who take notice find a connection of their own in a spirited effort to re-imagine their run-down neighborhood. ![]()
